Did you know? Rocamadour is one of the most visited sites in France after Mont-Saint-Michel and the city of Carcassonne. This breathtaking medieval setting is 120 meters above the Alzou canyon.

To visit Rocamadour, head for the Saint-Sauveur basilica and the Saint Amadour crypt, classified as a Unesco World Heritage site. Climb the 216 steps of the Grand Staircase, pass through the doors of the Basilica and the 7 chapels. If after all that you’re still feeling energetic, there are many hiking trails for you to discover the surrounding areas of Rocamadour.

By staying at our campsite near Rocamadour, you will discover this centre of Christianity since the Middle Ages. It is indeed a major landmark on the road to Santiago de Compostela. Since the 12th century, people have come from all over the world to venerate the Black Madonna in the Chapel of Our Lady. The city of Rocamadour has a mysterious atmosphere. According to the Book of Miracles written in 1172, Our Lady of Rocamadour cured illnesses, delivered prisoners, saved sailors and protected them during war.

After your visit to Rocamadour, you can also visit the nearby Gouffre de Padirac and explore an impressive 70-meter deep chasm!
