The Gardens of Marqueyssac

During your stay, enjoy a walk in the romantic and picturesque Gardens of Marqueyssac that overlook the Dordogne river.

Go for a romantic stroll

Perched on a rocky outcrop, the magnificent gardens overlook the Dordogne valley. A charming place, with one of the most beautiful panoramas of the region.

The gardens surround the Lauze-roofed castle. They have been designed with more than 6 km of paths lined with hundred-year-old hand-pruned boxwood. Your walk will be made even more enjoyable by the waterfalls, belvederes and a green theatre.

This beautiful park of 22 hectares faces the Château de Castelnaud and the Château de Beynac. It is indeed at the centre of the historical heritage of the Dordogne. Classified as a masterpiece of boxwood topiary art, you will enjoy every minute of your walk!

All along the footpaths, signs will explain the history of the valley, its fauna and flora. Children will also enjoy the playgrounds: treetop course, swings and huts which are on the site.
